Professional Background

I practiced law in San Francisco, California from 1986 to 1991.  During this time, I served as a research attorney for the federal court system and as a staff attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.  As a member of the AIDs legal referral panel in the 1980's, I drafted wills and powers of attorney for people diagnosed with AIDS and educated mental health professionals on the then new field of AIDS law.

Upon completion of my residency in 1999, I served as an attending physician at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia until 2001.  I have been in private practice in Atlanta since 2002 and also worked at Emory Student Health and Counseling Services from 2012 to 2014.

I am an adjunct faculty member of the Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute.

I am licensed to practice medicine in Georgia and am board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
